First set win not enough as Pride fall 3-1 at Judson

ELGIN, Ill. - Hitting the road for the first time in the 2025 season, the Clarke University women's volleyball team fell in a four set match to Judson University 3-1 on Wednesday night in Elgin, Ill.

The Pride were able to control the first set to pull out the win in the opening frame 25-16 but the Eagles would pull out the second and third in closer sets at 25-19 and 25-22 before running away with a 25-9 fourth set to close out the match.

After hitting for a combined .258 hitting percentage over the first two sets, Clarke would struggle on the attack in the third and fourth, finishing both sets in the negatives for hitting percentage with a combined 14 errors and only nine kills on 64 swings in the two sets.

CU did have the match leader in kills as junior Keely Colyer had 11 kills on 31 attempts for a .161 hitting percentage while the supporting offense came from Amelia Driver's seven kills with Kira Finlay adding five kills and Kelsey NeCollins finishing 4-for-7 with no errors for a .571.

Kortney Harms had 16 assists, three kills, three aces, and seven digs to stuff the statsheet while libero Jayden Knox finished with 17 digs for the second-straight match, making it four out of five matches with at least 15 digs this season in her first year as the primary libero for the Pride.

Clarke women's volleyball will hit the road again this weekend to play in another tournament format when they travel to Oskaloosa, Iowa for two matches on Friday and two more on Saturday against where they play Waldorf University at 1:00 p.m. CT then Mount Marty University at 5:00 p.m. CT in the William Penn Tournament.
