Four Pride women's soccer players earn 2025 All-Heart honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - In the middle of their Heart of America Athletic Conference opener, the Clarke University women's soccer team received word of their four All Conference selections officially via a conference announcement on Wednesday morning.

Those four players include seniors Morgan Lock and Abby Prunty as well as sophomores Jayden Black and Hailey Packer as both Lock and Black receive All-Heart designation for the second-straight seasons and Prunty and Packer earned postseason honors for the first time in their Clarke careers.

Lock, a Racine, Wis. native, earned the highest distinction on the All Conference teams to maintain her Second Team status after also receiving the second team nod in 2024 playing most of her minute this year at center back for the second-straight season as well. Lock finished the season with an assist that actually came in the regular season finale last Wednesday as she sent a long free kick towards goal that would be collected and scored for the game-winning goal in the 1-0 win over Culver-Stockton College that guaranteed CU's berth into the Heart Tournament.

Prunty, a natvie of Griffith, Ind., has been a stablizing force in the midfield for the Pride over her four seasons playing in 67 games and making 42 starts from 2022 to 2025 with her final season resulting in her first All-Heart selection as she receives Third Team honors. This season, Prunty was held off the scoresheet but her possession and defensive ability provided to be a key for Clarke's on-field success as a player who takes on some of the heavier minutes workloads on the team.

Black, hailing from Torrance, Calif., receives her second-straight All-Heart Third Team nod as she led the team in points and goals on the season with eight points on the four goals she scored, despite only playing in 12 of the 17 games on the season due to injury and illness. Two of her four goals came as game-winners as she produced the first goal of the game at William Woods in a 2-0 win on Sept. 27 then also scored the lone goal of the game on Clarke's homecoming on Oct. 18 at home against Missouri Baptist as she scored in the 54th minute to help CU prevail 1-0 over the Spartans.

Packer, also a California native from Rancho Cucamonga, was a mainstay as the left back part of the Clarke defensive unit to receive Third Team honors as well after playing and starting in 16 of the team's 17 games this season after mainly playing as a sub in 2024. Known for her speed down the sideline and ability to transition the Pride from defense to offense on the dribble, Packer finished the season with an assist from that same 2-0 game at William Woods on Sept. 27.
