Ruegsegger finishes off Fall with another top 10 at Heart Fall Preview

MORAVIA, Iowa - Wrapping up play for the fall of 2022, the Clarke University golf teams saw the men's team finish in a tie for nineth place along with Carter Ruegsegger posting his seventh top-10 finish in as many tournaments in the fall with his eighth place individual finish.

Monday's opening round had to be postponed to be finished up on Tuesday due to weather conditions as Ruegsegger carded a 74 (+2) to tie for 12th after a round before shooting one stroke better in the final round to a 73 (+1) to total at 147 (+3) for the tournament.

The remainder of the top-five lineup for Clarke saw Login Winn finish tied for 34th with a 155 scoring a first round 79 followed by an improved 76 in the second round, Jared Martinson and Alex McLeland shot similarly consistent 161 and 163 total scores with Martinson going 80 in the first round and 81 in the second round with McLeland posting an 82 followed by an 81, then Jesse Frye shot a 94 in the first round but improved to an 82 in the second round to shoot a two-round total of 176.

CU's men also had Francis Resurreccion competing as an individual in the tournament as the sophomore from Bartlett, Ill. finished the tournament with a 166 after matching scores of 83.

The Pride's women's golf team only completed a single round from Halle Boldt as she carded a 118 in the first round but was unable to continue into the second round.

Clarke golf will have the winter off until continuing the 2022-23 season in the spring towards the end of March into April.
