Pride bowling closes regular season at Hoosier Classic
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - In the midst of their busiest portion of the 2025-26 schedule, the Clarke University bowling teams competed in their final tournament before starting their postseason in the Columbia 300 Hoosier Classic on Saturday and Sunday in Indianapolis, Ind.
In what is typically one of the biggest tournaments they compete in all season long, the Pride women were able to finish in 32nd out of 64 teams with a Saturday pin count of 4,408 after the five individual games then adding 2,522 pins over 15 baker games on Sunday to total 6,930 while the men posted a 63rd place in the field of 78 teams with 7,064 pins in total after 4,508 on Saturday and 2,611 in baker games on Sunday.
Between the two teams, five different individuals bowled in all five games during Saturday's session with Austin McFarland of the men and Maddy Ardiaz posting the best scores for each team, finishing less than a pin per game apart with Ardiaz knocking down a total of 974 pins for a 194.8 average with McFarland posting a total of 971 for a 194.2 pins per game average.
Both Camryn Stefanini and Mason Trapp bowled five games as well on the men's side with Stefanini finishing at 185.4 pins per game and Trapp averaging 171 with the final CU bowler to post five games worth of scores on Saturday was Asher Merz for the women, who totaled 878 pins to average 175.6.
Rounding out the women's scores for their 32nd place was Jennifer Hayakawa's four-game average of 173, Alexa McDaniel, Mia Losee, and Sidney Pawski all bowling three games to averages of 190.3, 160.3, and 173.7 respectively, then Emily Larson rounded out the team's Saturday with a two-game average of 145.5.
Four other members of the Pride men posted game scores on Saturday as both Zach Reuter and Harley Redding bowled four games to averages of 181.5 and 180.5 respectively while AJ Juliano and Andrew Sass bowled the fifth game for each as Sass scored a 161 and Juliano posted a 146.
Clarke bowling will now prepare for the Heart of America Athletic Conference Championships to be held in Columbia, Mo. on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 21-22.
