Kennedy nabs Heart weekly honor for third time this season
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Wrapping up their third full month of the 2025-26 season, Clarke University women's basketball junior Zoe Kennedy was named the Heart of America Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the third time this season after games at Grand View University and at home against Missouri Valley College.
Kennedy, a Cedar Rapids, Iowa native, averaged 24.5 point over those two games that included a 32-point game last Wednesday against Grand View where she shot 13-for-22 (59.1%) from the field and added nine rebounds and an assist in a 73-63 loss on the road before producing a 17-point game at home last Saturday in a 70-51 win against Missouri Valley as she added five assists and five rebounds to finish the week averaging seven rebounds and three assists.
On Wednesday against Grand View, Kennedy also reached 1,000 collegiate points scored after a freshman season at Western Colorado University produced 48 points while she currently sits at 979 career points at Clarke to be 21 points away from being the 19th member of the 1,000-point club for Clarke women's basketball.
So far on the season, Kennedy is averaging 20.2 points per game in 22 games as she ranked 15th in the entire NAIA and second in the Heart of America with her 4.6 assists per game mark, placing fourth in the conference, while shooting 48.5 percent from the field, 36 percent from three point range, and 87.2 percent from the free throw line as a true three-level scorer.
More than just an offensive threat, Kennedy also 0.1 rebounds per game away from the team lead at 7.7 on the season as well as leading the team in steals per game at 1.8 and averaging nearly one shot blocked per game at 0.9 in a team-high in a conference-best 38.5 minutes per game.
Pride women's basketball will play three of their next four games at home starting on Wednesday, Feb. 4 when they host Mount Mercy University for a 5:30 p.m. CT scheduled tip at the Kehl Center.
