Clarke University selected to host NAIA Women's Basketball Tournament First and Second Round Games
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - For the second-straight season, Clarke University has been chosen as one of the 16 locations that will host the First and Second Rounds of the 2024 NAIA Women's Basketball National Championship Tournament.
Games will be held on Friday and Saturday, Mar. 15-16 as the games inside of the Robert and Ruth Kehl Center will feature the defending NAIA National Champions and No. 5 ranked Clarke women's basketball team and three other teams as part of the 64-team field in the NAIA Tournament.
Last season, Clarke hosted NAIA National Tournament games that saw the Pride win their first two games on the road to winning the school's first ever national championship as the three matchups were Clarke vs. Indiana University Northwest, Freed-Hardeman University vs. Northwestern College, and Clarke vs. Freed-Hardeman.
Game times for the two games on Friday and the single game on Saturday as well as the full slate of teams are all to be determined as the NAIA's selection show will air on Mar. 7 at 7:00 p.m. CT on the NAIA's YouTube page at https://www.youtube.com/playnaia to find out the full seeding and who will be making a trip to Dubuque.
The full NAIA Release including all 16 host sites can be viewed here: https://www.naia.org/sports/wbkb/2023-24/Releases/Hosts
Unlike the 2023 First and Second Round games, there will be no online preorder tickets available as all tickets can be purchased at the door on the day of the games with ticket prices set at $8 for general admission and $5 for students.
All games will stream on the Clarke Pride Sports Network at https://team1sports.com/clarke/ with Doug Wagen serving as the play-by-play voice of the Dubuque site and Clarke men's basketball head coach Jim Blaine providing color commentary.
Clarke women's basketball is currently in the middle of the Heart of America Athletic Conference Tournament as the Heart Regular Season Champions are set to host Benedictine College in the Kehl Center on Saturday, Mar. 2 for a 4:00 p.m. CT start after the Pride earned an 80-67 win over Central Methodist University in Wednesday night's first round matchup.
