Pride suffer defeats in both ends of Friday doubleheader at MidAmerica Nazarene

OLATHE, Kan. - Continuing on what shifted into eight-straight road games for the Clarke University softball team, the Pride dropped their pair of games on Friday to MidAmerica Nazarene University by scores of 6-0 and 14-1.

The Pride were only able to manage three hits in each game as the Pioneers built their leads early in each game with a three-run second in the opener and a pair of four-run innings in the first and second in the second game.

Four of the six hits for CU on the day came from infielder Daija Bates and catcher Abby Archer as Bates went 2-for-5 on the day with a head in each game and Archer went 2-for-3 overall, also with a hit in each game.

Malarie Huseman drove in the lone run in game two as she pitched all six innings for Clarke in the opener to give up 11 hits and walk three with one strikeout.

The Pride will head to Parkville, Mo. to square off against Park University with the doubleheader scheduled to start at 12:00 p.m. CT.
