Aparisi and Arana named 2025 Heart All Conference selections for Pride men's soccer

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - With the strat of the postseason slated for Tuesday night across the Heart of America Athletic Conference, Heart officials announced the 2025 selections to the Men's Soccer All Conference Teams with two members of the Clarke University men's soccer team receiving honors for their 2025 season performance.

Those two members of the Pride are senior defender Carles Aparisi and junior forward William Arana as both players were selected to the All-Heart Third Team with Aparisi earning his third All Conference recognition as a member of the Pride and Arana earns season recognition in his first season in Dubuque.

Aparisi, a Valencia, Spain native, was a 2022 All-Heart Second Team selection before missing 2023 due to injury and returned to CU to back-to-back All-Heart Third Team honors after doing so in 2024 as well at his center back position where he finished with one goal scored on the season with the first goal on Sept.24 at home against Mount Mercy University, to go down as the game-winning goal in the 4-0 win for Clarke.

The Pride defensive unit also allowed its fewest goals against average as a team in the last four seasons since Aparisi joined the team, finishing at 1.65 goals against per game, with their five shutouts also tied for the most in a season for Clarke men's soccer with Aparisi on the squad, tied with last season.

Arana, a native of Urbana, Ill., transferred to the Pride from Parkland College to lead the 2025 CU men's soccer squad in points (15) and goals scored (7) to tie for eighth in the conference in goals and tying for 15th in the Heart with his 15 total points. Arana scored at least a point in seven of Clarke's 17 games this season including scoring a goal in six of those moments with his first goal coming in a 2-1 win over Oakland City on Aug. 22, his lone assist coming in the game following on Aug. 28 at home against Midland, and his lone multi-goal game coming at home on Oct. 18 in a 3-0 win against Missouri Baptist, one of those goals being the first goal of the game, giving Arana the game-winning goal.
