ADDISON, Ill. - Competing in their final tournament of the fall semester, the Clarke University bowling teams had a strong finish to the first half of the 2025-26 season with a women's seventh place finish and men's 12th place finish at the Warhawk Open on Saturday and Sunday.

On the women's side, CU's seventh place finish came on a total of 6,945 pins following Saturday's individual games and Sunday's baker format and qualified them for the head-to-head bracket portion of the tournament where they went up against Judson University in the first round to earn a two games to one win in the best of three matchup with the scores going 202-193, 171-186, and 145-127.

In the next round, the Pride matched up against Marian University (WI) as the two teams split the first two games 175-140 for MU then 178-157 for Clarke before the Sabres finished off the match with a 162-144 game three to eliminate CU in the semifinals.

Jumping back to Saturday's individual portion of the tournament, Clarke freshman Mia Losee earned the individual win in the tournament with a first place pin total of 976 over five games to average 195.2 pins per game, 8 total pins and 1.6 more pins on average than second place.

Losee bowled over 200 in three of the five games with her top score of Saturday finishing at 220 in game five after games of 187, 215, 202, and 152 to lead the way for a Pride team that saw Alexa McDaniel also post a 14th place finish with a 180.6 average, Jennifer Hayakawa put up a 168.4 average in 36th place, Emily Larson finish at an average of 164.8 for 45th, and Asher Merz round out the team scoring at 50th with a 163.6 final average.

On the men's side, Clarke's 12th place finish was led by a trio of Pride bowlers bunched very close together in the final scoring from Saturday as junior Harley Redding finished atop that trio in 34th for the tournament with a 1,010 total pin count to a 202 five-game average while sophomore Camryn Stefanini posted a 39th place 1,006 and freshman Mason Trapp was one pin behind Stefanini with 1,005 with Stefanini posting the best top game at a 248 in game four but Trapp finishing with more game over 200 with a 219 game one, 208 game two, and a 230 game three.

Austin McFarland was the final member of the team to bowl a full five-game slate as he finished with an average of 175.6 while Cole Nietert finished with a three game average of 169.3 and both Zach Reuter and Andrew Sass bowled a game each with Rueter posting a 168 and Sass putting up a 160.

Pride bowling will head into winter break with plenty to build off of from the 2025 fall semester of competition as they will be back in action shortly after the spring 2026 semester starts on Jan. 17-18 when they head back to Addison, Ill. for the KEGAL/ISBPA Collegiate Classic.
