Pride bowling makes return trip to Rockford for Leatherneck Classic

ROCKFORD, Ill. - Nearing the end of their fall schedule in the 2025-26 season, the Clarke University bowling teams wrapped up their second trip to Rockford, Ill. with a men's 16th place and women's 17th place finish at the Leatherneck Classic on Saturday and Sunday.

The Pride men's 16th place came behind a total pin count of 7,811 between Saturday's individual games and Sunday's baker rounds with the best individual score for CU coming off the hand of Harley Redding, who posted a 27th place individually with a five-game total of 1,057 for an average of 211.4 finishing three of his five games over 200 including a pair of games at 245 in game two and four.

Three other members of the Clarke men's lineup bowled five games on Saturday with Mason Trapp totalling just over 1,000 pins at 1,002 for a 200.4 pins per game average, Camryn Stefanini finished his five games with a 193.4 average, and Austin McFarland produced a 190.2 five-game average.

Zach Reuter, Andrew Sass, and Cole Nietert all bowled at least one game for the team scoring where Reuter produced a three-game average of 182, Sass bowled a 167 game, and Nietert produced a 139 game.

On the women's side for Clarke, Jennifer Hayakawa finished in 56th place with her five-game total pin count of 878 to average 175.6 as her best game of the weekend came in game two where she bowled a 201, just edging out her game five total of 200 on the dot.

Also being in the lineup for all five games to help the Pride women reach their 17th place pin total of 6,810 was Maddy Ardiaz, who put in a five-game average of 167.4 and Alexa McDaniel averaged 160.8 in five games.

Emily Larson, Mia Losee, Zoie Swanson, and Anna Sickels all bowled a descending amount of games for CU with Larson putting up a four-game average of 155.75, Losee had an average of 163.67 over three games, Swanson had a two-game average of 153, and Sickels bowled one game to a score of 139.

Clarke bowling will have one more tournament within the 2025 portion of the season when they compete next on Dec. 6-7 at the Warhawk Open at Addison, Ill.
