Amos leads Pride at Leatherneck Classic
DAVENPORT, Iowa - Another short trip to a local Iowa bowling event, the Clarke University men's bowling team was able to come away from the Leatherneck Classic with a 29th place finish out of 46 total teams.
The top total, average, and game score came from sophomore Mannix Amos and his 51st place finish as the Bowie, Md. native finished with a six-game total 1229 pins, which averaged out to 204.8333 pins per game with a team-high 279 score in his second game of the tournament while also adding a 267 in the fourth game.
Jordan Gorgas, Landen Freismuth, Adante Jones, Alexis Gutierrez, and Caden Bainbridge rounded out the Pride lineup as Gorgas had a six-game average of 187.6667, Freismuth finished with a six-game average of 176, Jones bowled five games to a 183.6 average, Gutierrez had a five-game average of 149.6, and Bainbridge bowled two games for a 152 average.
Clarke bowling will have a few weeks away from official competition before they compete in their next tournament in December at the Warhawk Open on Dec. 3-4.
