Pride men's bowling got back to work at Five Seasons Classic
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Getting back to work following a week away from official competition, the Clarke University men's bowling team competed at the Five Seasons Classic in Cedar Rapids last weekend to a little bit of bad pin luck.
As a team during their individual games, the Pride averaged a 161.6 pins per game mark led by the 173.5 four-game average from Alexis Gutierrez as he also scored the team-high game of 216 in game four, his third game bowled of the tournament.
Of the two members of the Pride who bowled all five individual games, Jordan Gorgas finished with the higher average at an even 165 with his high game coming in game four with a 200 as Adante Jones finished his five games with an average of 156.2 for the tournament.
Caden Bainbridge, Mannix Amos, and Landen Freismuth also scored individually for CU as Amos had the highest average of those three with a 166.25 followed by Freismuth's 161.67 over three games, and Bainbridge scored a 147.5 average in four games.
Clarke didn't end up finishing out all 20 baker games but averaged a 158.06 in the 16 baker games that they did bowl as a team.
Next up for the Pride will be a trip to Davenport, Iowa for the Leatherneck Classic on Nov. 12-13.
