Pride bowling finishes Clarke Invite at men's fourth place and women's fifth place
DUBUQUE, Iowa - In a weekend that honored their seniors and served as their lone home event of the year, the Clarke University bowling teams each finished towards the middle of the field in the team competitions this weekend at the Clarke Invite at Cherry Lanes in Dubuque.
The Pride men finished in fourth place with a total pin count of 7,798 as they scored 4,802 pins during the team/individual games on Saturday then finished up on Sunday with 2,996 pins in Sunday's 16 Baker games. The Pride women took fifth place after scoring 4,350 over their team/individual games on Saturday and added 2,877 pins in the Baker games on Sunday.
Individually, freshman Tanner Webb took home the individual tournament championship as he won the competition by just two pins at 1,105 total pins, saving his best for last with scores of 242 and 246 in his fourth and fifth games to edge out the 1,103 pins from Lincoln Memorial University's Ian Friesner.
Continuing for the men, Brendan Holl finished in sixth place with his final count of 1,060 pins through five games, Will Clark finished in 16th place with 979 pins over five games, Jordan Grogas finished with 740 pins over four games, Mannix Amos had 476 pins over three games, Alex Kubitz had 299 pins over two games, and Adante Jones had a single game total of 143 to round out the CU individuals on the men's side.
For the women, Brooke Puckett had the highest finish individually, slotting in 10th place with 920 pins over her five games. Not far behind was Ragan Carey as she finished in 12th place, just 10 pins behind Puckett with a 910 over her five games. Mackenzie Blagojevic finished win 22nd at 853 pins over five games, Kassidy Gerken scored 523 pins over three games, Amber Bertschinger had 487 pins over three games, Aubrey Kiddle had 323 pins over two games, with both Emma Clancy (176) and Stephanie Thompson (158) bowling a game each.
Clarke bowling will continue on with their season next weekend when they travel to Cedar Rapids, Iowa for the Kohawk Invite on Feb. 5-6 with only two more events left to go in their 2021-22 regular season.
